Complete Dental Implants in Stirling
Dental implants are biocompatible tooth restorations which are made to imitate the function of natural tooth roots. When you have a missing tooth, an implant can replace it and support a permanent crown, bridge or denture. Dental implants are the perfect alternative to traditional bridges and partial dentures, because they can function independent of the other teeth.
The Implant Process
When you get implants, there will be a few different appointments involved, including surgical placement of the implant root, the healing period, and the final reconstruction. Although implant placement does require a small surgery, it is usually easier and more comfortable than having a tooth pulled out. Most of our patients are surprised at how quick and straightforward the surgery actually is. After the surgery, the implant integrates with the bone over the next few months, and you will have to wear a temporary restoration for aesthetic purposes. About three to six months later, we will fix the permanent crown, bridge or denture in place.
Are You a Candidate for Implants?
Before you can receive implant treatment, our expert dentists will need to screen you for gum disease or decay and check the amount of healthy bone support. We recommend implants for individuals with fully developed teeth and there is a minimum age requirement of 18 years old.
