Custom Denture Options in Perth
If you need to replace all your missing teeth at once, then dentures are a straightforward and efficient solution. A full or partial denture design may be the best choice if you have had multiple teeth extracted.
What are dentures?
Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth and surrounding tissues, used to help individuals who have lost some or all of their teeth regain functionality and aesthetics.

Implant Supported Denture Options
Thanks to the advancement of dental implant therapy, First Impressions Dental now offers state-of-the-art restorations which offer security and permanent support for dentures. An implant denture can be removable or permanently fixed to as few as four implants.
What are dentures made of?
The base of the denture is typically made from acrylic resin or a flexible polymer that fits over the gums. The colour is usually matched to the natural gum colour.
The artificial teeth attached to the base are usually made from porcelain or acrylic resin, chosen for their similarity in appearance to natural teeth.
Types of Removable Dentures
Depending on the number of teeth that need to be replaced, there are two types of dentures to select from.
- Full (or ‘plates’) – These are a full arch denture which replaces all of the upper or lower teeth at once. Full dentures rely on suction between the plate and the gums to create a seal – this holds it in the mouth.
- Partials – When you are able to retain several healthy teeth, a partial denture will clip into place around them. This provides added stability while eliminating the need for more extractions.
Getting the Most Out of Your New Denture
One you receive your new denture, you will need to carefully clean it each day – this ensures your mouth stays healthy and your prosthesis continues to fit properly. If your denture is removable, you will need to soak it in a cleansing solution every night, then brush and rinse it in the morning. This routine ensures your prosthesis stays clean and reduces your risk of getting oral infections.
The Denture fitting process
- A dentist takes initial impressions of the jaw and existing teeth. These impressions are used to create a precise model of the mouth.
- Before the final denture is made, a wax model is fitted to ensure proper fit, colour, and shape.
- Adjustments are made as needed after the wax model test. Once everything is correct, the final denture is manufactured.
